CASE STUDY

COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS + THE WAY HOME HOUSTON

Beginning in 2011, CKP Principal Jennifer Evans (beginning with JL Evans Comms) has led the creation and execution of media messaging, community relations, crisis communications, outreach and engagement with underserved audiences (ethnic, socio-economic, gender), community partners and service providers. On any given day, CKP team members serve across any/all of the categories above, working with local government officials, neighborhood groups, vulnerable populations and local, regional or national media. We create messaging for more than 100 partner organizations, staff on crisis response messaging, and support the network. Message and media monitoring, counsel to staff and steering committee, re-assurance to key stakeholders and influencers – all in a day’s work.

Now in its 7th year as the communications agency of record, CKP has positioned the Coalition and The Way Home system as national best practices leaders in reducing homelessness. Highlights of success include: generating more than $4,883,405 in positive media value in 2017, continuing annual trend of double digit media valuation growth; quadrupling social media reach without exploiting a vulnerable population; and CKP has expanded its reputation as crisis communications and brand reputation experts among non-profits and multiple City and County municipalities.
